By The Globe and Mail Staff WriterJuly 16, 2018 9:05amUS citizens in the United Arab Emirates will soon be able to travel anywhere in the world by using the technology that will be used on the new Boeing 737 MAX jetliner.
The airline, United Arab Airlines, announced Thursday that it has begun accepting pre-orders for the MAX and is looking for a buyer.
A 737 MAX is a commercial aircraft that can seat 120 passengers, and can fly between 20 and 30 times a day.
The MAX will be made in two batches: a single-aisle version with seats for 65 passengers and a larger single-seater version with a maximum of 72 seats.
In August, United also began accepting orders for the first of three new Boeing 777-300ER jets.
The 777-200ER is a twin-engine jet with seating for 140 passengers and seating for 200.
The first 777-500ER will be delivered in 2021, followed by the 777-600ER in 2023.
Last week, the airline said it will begin offering a new MAX for the U.S. and the UK.
The airline has already been selling the MAX for about two years.
The company is expected to offer a 737 MAX for sale to the U and UK markets in 2019.
